Interview conducted by Alan Cherry as part of the LDS Afro-American Oral History Project of the Charles Redd Center for Western Studies at Brigham Young University on 9 March 1988. Lyons describes her early years in Mississippi and New York. She tells of her educational experiences, married life in Mississippi and Michigan, her husband's death, and her career. She talks of her religious experiences, her conversion to the Mormon Church, and its influence on her life.
